Ascot Structures launched “The Bamboo” in 2009; comprising a bamboo infrastructure and legislation compliant PVC covers, it is the UK’s first environmentally friendly tent. In addition it meets client demand for a structure with the same performance criteria as an aluminium frame, but with the aesthetics of a more traditional pole tent structure
Regulations within the EU demand that flame retardant PVC is used in the production and utilisation of temporary structures, whether for public or private use. This involves chemical treatment of the material to apply a flame retardant coating. As a result we use a supplier that re-cycles the PVC at the end of its lifespan, so it can be used again in a myriad of other applications.
Recessionary times place increased constraints on event budgets, with no need for expensive linings and floorcoverings, “The Bamboo” allows clients to deliver events with a unique look and feel whilst controlling costs.
Whether clients are looking to make an ethical statement, escape from the clinical monotony of aluminium, reduce their carbon footprint, or simply desire something different, The Bamboo is the an innovative solution to outdoor events.
Bamboo Cassette Flooring
Our cassette flooring boasts one of the highest floor loadings in the UK, offering an impressive weight bearing capacity of 6Kn/m². This is manufactured in-house and has been adapted to incorporate bamboo and further complement the structures.
The suspended Bamboo Cassette Floor negates the requirement for carpeting, reducing both cost and waste from the event, the majority of carpet typically being sent to landfill after a single use.
