Chelsea Flower Show contract extended
Ascot Structures’ three year contract with the Royal Horticultural Society to provide structures for the Chelsea Flower Show has been extended for a further two years.
The contract includes the prestigious Thames View restaurant, the structure is a 10m x 55m Ascot clear span A frame, with an additional 5m clear roof and recessed gable as an entrance canopy. Historically, until 2013 when Ascot was awarded the contract, this structure had been two separate smaller tents. However Ascot was able to design a bespoke solution for one larger seamless structure, which offered more usable space. It features a bespoke outside decking area and scaffold base that it is built on.
Ascot’s scaffold system and ability to design and manufacture in-house, bespoke solutions enabled the organisers to utilise every last cm of available space, and build on sites or areas that wouldn’t traditionally have been built upon. The whole facility has been designed to be totally reusable, including all the decking and cladding, further reducing the environmental impact of their works over the duration of the contract.
In addition they will also supply 57 other various structures onsite including the Press & Media Facilities tent and The President’s Restaurant, run by Fortnum and Masons. This entry was posted in Latest News. Bookmark the permalink.
